The Oregon Cascades are a second home to me. As a teenager, I backpacked the wilderness areas that extend along the summit of the range. These mountains are among the most beautiful in the world, and remain a magnet for me and thousands of others who seek the tranquility of pristine forests pierced by volcanic peaks of extraordinary grandeur.
