Definitions of what areas constitute "Northern California" vary considerably. The region is highly diverse. Beautiful coastline, redwood forests, wine country, the the high mountains of the Sierra, the southern Cascade Ranges, Trinity Alps, and the Klamath Mountains, lakes, and windswept sagebrush steppe in the northeast portion of the state.
